Kinked fuel line/tube

Anyone ever experienced a kinked fuel line or main fuel tube where the fuel pump sends gas to the engine? If so, what were your symptoms and after you replaced or repaired the kink, did it resolve your symptoms?

I did put a slight kink in one time and no issues. That is one part that I am very careful with, it can be hard to find and expensive. On a future project I have I could not get the line to seperate so I just dropped the tank and left it connected. If it is kinked to bad it could be fuel starvation.

I've been running into major problems with my 94 4x4 22RE and after going through everything we thought and didnt think the problem would be, my last thought would be fuel related problems. I do have a major kink that's almost shutting the tube closed that might be causing my miss and idle problems due to fuel starvation. The tube i'm talking about is a rubber tube that's also protected by some type of hose material jacket and it is the main fuel tuse that sends the fuel to the engine. So I just wanted to get some insight from people who were in the same or similar position as I am.

I went the race parts route. I cut dead all the factory fuel lines and cut off the fitting at the fuel pump bracket. I ran -6 AN line from the pump output (double clamped) to a -6 an m12 x 1.25 earls banjo fitting to the input of the fuel filter on the engine.

I am working on a parts list to completely replace that whole run with -6 pro-classic braided hose so I will not have to deal with this again. Then I can spread the gospel P/N's and how to pictures.

Red face

A kinked fuel line will tend to cause more problems with the engine under load.

Now if it just barely idles and dies under load that is most likely your problem

It takes much more to kink a rubber line then metal

I would think maybe injectors this ethanol is brutal on removing rust upstream of the fuel filter.

Then not knowing just what else you have done chasing this problem just a guess at best.
