key switch

I was wondering if u guys could tell me if u have had to replace your key switch in your 1st gen runners,switch....not tumbler. and if so what were the symptoms it gave u that made u know that was it?I would be grateful if u guys would throw some of your info from personal experiences my way.I think it will help me with some gremlins that are buggin my 89 runner 22re.

I have replaced a few of them, but from ones I bought that had the ignitions punched out. so I just replaced them

punched out like someone tried to steal it?I'm talkin about the part with the electrical connections on it.I already did the tumbler.

it's intermittently not turning the starter and sometimes not lighting up the dash when it's in accessory position . sometimes my temp and fuel gauges work sometimes not.sometimes when you turn the key from ACC to start it kills the dash and then you have jack, but if you undo the battery terminal and then reattach it power is back from the dead and it turns and starts.PO neglected it and I'm resurrecting it from the edge of death.
