Key/Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement

It appears that my key lock cylinder is toasted after 156K miles of key turns on my '95 Runner. I tried having a new key made but no success there and I gave the dry graphite a shot as well...no luck.

I noticed the manual and recommendations state that after you remove a variety of pieces that you should turn the key cylinder to "ACC" before you can remove....well, that's great, but that's the entire problem...the key WON'T turn so I can't get it to the "ACC" position. Any advice?

Thanks,
MSH

If you're not worried about trashing it, why not just stick a big standard screwdriver in and pry until it turns loose? Just a thought...
