K&N or AFE?
#1
I run a K&N flat OE replacement air filter. I think it's okay. Mostof the people I work with run diesels, powerstrokes and what not, and they all swear by AFE filters.
I got my K&N because I've always used them before. I really never compared them to another high flow filter. So does anybody out there know which is better. Which flows more air?

I've got a K&N and am happy with it, though many people aren't especially for off road use (I've yet to have a prob but hope to change filters before I do). I really don't like it though because it scares the ˟˟˟˟˟ out of me when I'm going through water (open filter+water=hydrolock=$$$) I'm looking forward to amsoil releasing their new filters http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaa.aspx then I'll probably switch back to an airbox to amke it work. As far as flow I'm sure that all the of these types of filters flow pretty close to the same, to the point where you won't notice any diff.

It doesn't make a difference.
K&N sucks hind tit, it adds no performance, is extremely expencive & requires maintenece before normall filters are clogged. Just stick with your K&N until it needs re-oiling, then sell it to some newbie online & drop a $5-10 filter in your airbox.
No one clean filter is going to dyno any more power than any other clean filter. They're just not any type of meaningful restriction.
