Just towed a wood chipper home

Hey guys,

Just towed a Home Depot rental wood chipper home about 8 miles to my house with my 87 pickup with a 22r... A very scary ordeal. Used a hitch mounted to the bumper (Even scarier), but made it no problem. Shifted into 4 low to back it into my driveway. Overall it was kinda fun, scary but fun!

Chipper was 1700 pounds or so.

I need to get a hitch for my truck. I wish the 4runner ones would fit; theres a few at the scrapyard.

Why was it scary? I towed a 2wd Toyota 30 miles on a dolly (8,500lbs total), and a 85 Grand Prix 120 miles on a trailer (10,000lbs total). I have a hitch but I took it slow 45 max each time.

I just installed a frame mount hitch and have been very satified with the difference it made in towing. No more bumper flexing from the brakets
