Oh yeah. I just might do this in white. Maybe black for below the seams on the lower half of the doors. I already wanted to do the black, but the rest of the paint is all faded and this would be a sweeeeet alternative to clearcoating it.

Its not fading at all. It looks like the day I put it on.
It is supposed to have a UV inhibitor in it.

I bought it at a local paint shop on admiral in Tulsa. I can't remember the name.
I dont put anything on it. I just pressure wash it every once in a while. Mainly when I get mud on it.

first time i've seen a colored liner sprayed. looks great. in this picture, i can't help but wonder how cool a huge bass boat metal flake would look on the truck...

sure, it would be a little much, but .... ;-)

also, is the texture rough to the hand, or just bumpy ? nice build !

Its a little rough.
I wouldn't want to get side swiped by the truck.

No, I don't
The cross member is just 4 pieces of 3/8 plate welded together. I haven't added a skid plate yet.
The bumper is all 1/4" plate for the winch mount part and 3/16 plate for rest.

Hey Jolly,
few questions for you?
you said you pressure wash every now and then when you get mud on it?
does the pressure washer take any of the liner off?
how does it hold up against the mud? scratches?
does the mud get into the "pores"

does anyone know if red clay would stain this?

how does it hold up against the mud? scratches? 1000% better than the paint did.

does the mud get into the "pores" It's about like regular paint. It's not a big deal, and there isn't anything weird or irritating about it.

The finish is allot smoother than you think. It's like really super orange peeled paint, but it is still paint like. It's not like Rhino liner "super sharp and edgy" It has a smooth feel to it.
If you went Dukes of Hazzard over the hood naked, it would hurt, but probably wouldn't tear up your skin or leave a mark.

does anyone know if red clay would stain this? I doubt it. I live in Oklahoma "home of red clay" and it doesn't seem to stain mine but my truck is red to begin with.

Dude, Oklahoma is Cherokee for "OMG look at all that red clay" Oklahoma city is completely red from it. Tulsa isn't so bad.

It is basically urethane paint. Just super thick.

jollygreen,
your truck is sweet. i love the look of the armor liner, and i am hooked. i am going to do my runner and
i have a couple questions, did you spray it out side? what kind of compressor did you use? "i have a craps man 6hp 30gal 150 psi max, just want to see if it going to keep up. and lastly, how does it hold up to gas?

I sprayed it in my back yard outside.
I have a $1400 air compressor, yours will probably be fine, you use it at 40-60 psi.
I have never poured gas over the outside of my truck, but I have yet to have any issues with anything.

thanx for the feedback, Jolly G. i am definitely doing this. i think i am going to do the entire interior as well, including inside the rear quarters. i just pulled all the interior panels, and i don't see one bit of rust in there. i want to keep it that way, and i think this will be perfect.

thanx again for posting up your pics. have a good summer!
