Interior Question

I have a question for any of you 2nd gen 4Runner guys/gals. I recently shattered one of my rear cargo area interior panels. Cold frozen plastic + sliding tool box = many little pieces of plastic. Beyond repair.

I have a 2 door and am wondering (read: desperately hoping) the piece I broke is a match to the 4 door trim piece.

I've broke the far rear passenger side panel. The one that meets up with the tailgate and extends up around the rear qtr. glass. Same pannel that has the storage compartment door. On mine this panel ends about half way forward on the qtr. glass, stopping right behind the rear speaker. Just wondering if this is the same piece for the 2 and 4 door models before I start calling junk yards. I already know there are no 2-doors sitting in yards anywhere in the area.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

As in ONE continuous panel!? No seams anywhere!? I think mine has 3 maybe 4 panels/pieces that make up each side from the doors to the tailgate. Crap!

Does anyone know of any 2door 2nd gen 4Runners sitting in a junkyard, with grey interior?

Do you think a 4dr one would fit? I could go take a better pic for ya if you wanted.

best bet is to check local junk yards, or search on Car-part.com for whole vehicles, and find one that is a 2 door. Those things are RAAAARE!!!!

And yes, that panel is 2 door only. 4Dr panels will not fit.

Thanks Tubbyfatty, but I got a peek in the back of a 4 door today and I don't think I could make one fit without some serious "customizing." I'm betting the clips are different as well. Plus, it probably wouldn't look much better than the crazy clue/Gorilla Tape job i did today on my shattered panel.

I'm just hoping I can luck out and find one in a yard. So far the ones I've called are a little confused when I want 2 door 2nd gen parts.

I'll keep an eye out for you Polander but those things are getting to be very very rare nowadays... thre are a couple of places you might try... yotayard for one, member jbm715 might have one... there are a few threads from members with parts operations who might be able to help you...

Those 2 doors are incredibly rare! You'd be able to special order them at a dealership, while most-likely forking out at least $500 for the panel on a 2 door. I priced a panel for a 4 door and it came out to $700 for EACH SIDE.
