interior dissasembly question

anywhere i can get a write up or have someone explain how to remove the cargo area interior panels on a 2nd gen 4runner?

I took mine out a couple of years ago, it wasn't too hard. Remove the trim from the rear of the carpet, undo the screws and pop it out. Then remove the upper middle part, where the light is, I think that's just held in by clips, but check for any screws before forcing it. If you have the brackets for the cargo cover then unscrew them, the screws are hidden by small cover pieces. Then carefully remove the side panels, I worked from the back to front. They're held in by plastic clips but if you're careful you can get them out without breaking any. I can't remember if the seat belts are in the way, if they are then unbolt them.

It's been a while, and I don't have a 2nd gen anymore, so I may have missed something. If any part won't come off don't force it too much, check for hidden bolts/screws.

i partially took mine apart to install new speakers and was a pain but not unbearable would have been easier if i just took them all the way off. you just have to work with them.
