Installing used 22RE this weekend....question tho???

Ok so ive found a recently re-built engine from a junk yard for $750...going tomm to pick it up and install it this weekend, my question is that is there any tricks to removing and installing these engines compared to others? Ive done 4 other R&R engines before and they were intimadating but fairly for the most part easy... i just know that there are a lot of vacume lines and so on on the 22RE compared to most.....so any info would be helpful thanks

My advise leave all lines attatched that you can, unplug the harness from the ecu and take it out with the engine. GRAVY.



Of course you have heard it run though right. Not sure what kind of experience you have with them but a rebuild may not be what you think it is. I went through 3 engines before I built one.

knowing where the vaccume lines go is the biggest problem i remember from when i rebuilt my engine and had to put it back in, but if you have already done a couple engine replacements you should be just fine

The fuel rail is under the top piece of the intake manifold. That took awhile for me

I havent heard it run yet, i meant thats what im going up there tomm to do. Im going to do a quick compression test on it hear it run etc.....the only thing is that i dont really know and no one REALLY knows what they are getting from a junk yard....hence the name JUNK yard l.o.l.....you cant really put it under a load and such but could get somewhat of an idea.....and like
92lazer says rebuild could be a couple of diff. meanings, which i know all you know that of coarse im just ramblin......anyone else know of a place that i could get a legit used engine for a decent price? Long Block is prefered, complete engine would be what i get of course from a junk yard....im on a VERY tight budget right now im in the middle of building a house and my little engine that could picked a fine time to fail me lol.......... any help is appreciated thanks

Just replace mine in April. Like they said the vacuum lines are the hardest part 2 lines in the wrong position will hurt you. It is always easier to work on a clean engine than a dirty one. and you can buy a brand new long block for $1600
