Infinite radiator air bubbles

Just trying to confirm my suspicions.....The 3.0 in my 207K 94Runner is the second motor, and has about 110K on it. Recent timing belt/water pump and truck runs great. I've had/have a small amount of whiteish smoke at startup for a year now and while bleeding rad. on an incline it seems that the air just keeps coming while squeezing the upper rad. hose. Should I assume a HG leak into a cylinder or look for a non-obvious leak somewhere. It doesn't seem to need much coolant over time, but will top off rad. occasionally(three weeks or so)Does anyone remember the post concerning checking the A/F for exhaust gas? can't seem to locate this post. Thanks for any response to this tiring subject.
Also, possibly related, noticed significant gunk at the oil cooler, just one of the many leaks areas on the old rig. What are the common problems in this area besides new seals/gaskets. Is this a common place for A/F to disappear? Thanks

hg most likely is done, get a coolant tester kit that tests for combustion gas.
