Ignition Switch
Yesterday i finally wore out the key for my pickup. After messing around for a while trying to get my key to turn in the ignition (jiggling it, some wd 40 on the key in case i had a sticky tumbler) My brother, who fortunately lives close, brought me a spare key (i was in a parking lot 10 miles from home). Spare works fine. Compare it to my old key and my key was completely worn out.
Now, however, the "key in ignition" buzzer doesn't shut off when i take the key out and have a the door open. Quite irritating. So, the "key in switch" mechanical or electrical? Do i have a frozen tumbler or a stuck contact? front or rear of swtich, and am i likely to free the switch back up by wiggling a little pick in there? Thanks.

I figured it out. There is a pin that pushes a lever that switches an electrical switch. The pin that pushes the lever was stuck. I pulled the ignition switch out, pushed it back down and wallah, it behaves properly again.
