IFS double cardan clearancing

Hey guys, just looking for more info on clearancing the newer style double cardan joint on an IFS front driveshaft to use now that I'm SAS'd. How many of you have done this? I took my driveshaft to a driveshaft specialist and he said that its a bad idea because you will lose the seal inside the joint. I don't think by any means he is a Toyota expert... so, has anyone had issues with this procedure or losing the seal that rides on the piece you grind down?

Here is the writeup I've been looking at:

You can trust what's on 4x4wire. Well...I would anyways. Quite obviously "this is modification is fairly common" means many have done so successfully(including the author).

Maybe you should be pointing that write-up out to the "driveshaft specialist" you spoke to.
