Rebuilt my carburetor, did timing chain, and installed distributor with rotor on cylinder 1, and then adjusted by ear, until engine idled the highest. But now in turning my idle adjustment screw, I can't get the idle to go below about 1600 RPM.
With no information you will get no answers. Asian carbs can be fun. Just did a head on my 87 and when I got it back together I went to a friend for help because I didn't have a timing light. Mine grew legs. We started by hooking All vacuum lines were on and good, making sure float level was good, set base timing at 0 with vacuum advance disconnected, idle mixture screw started at 2 1/2 turns out and we ended at 2 1/4, make sure choke is wide open and high idle cam is disengaged. If all this is done and your motor is good it should idle down. Make sure you are using the regular idle screw and not the choke idle screw.
Love all the vacuum lines......
