Question Idiling problem after tune up

I have a 1992 4-Runner w/ 3.0. I started it and let it warm up, came out and it had died, when trying to restart it was if it was flooded out( started but was running on 4 cyl) so i reved to try to clear it out, and was as if cap got wet, I removed cap and was caroded, figured i check plug as well, wire broke . Long story short, complete tune up, Toyota cap& rotor,Bosh plugs and aftermarket wires. NOW, it starts and sounds like a harley, at idile,Very sluglish till 1500 rpm then wakes up, if its abouve 1500rpm its fine, (witch it didnt do before tune up) now sounds like its running on 3 cyl at idile, hot or cold... Swapped with a friend a mas air flow sensor and no diffrence. I have never had a problem with a Toyota that wasnt self inflicted, so this is driving me nutz! thanks

Check to make sure you dont have a cracked spark plug. I spent about 3 hours trying to fig out what was wrong with my truck after a tune up. Found that one of my new spark plugs was cracked, put a new one in and it worked fine.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Diddo on the plugs and wires. Double check them with a service manual to be sure they are on the right plugs and double check the plugs themselves. You could have a cracked plug as already mentioned or the gap may have closed while on one while installing. Things like this happen quite often.

Good luck.

Double ditto on the wires. After I changed plug wires on my Firebird, it ran like it was running on 3 cylinders instead of 6. Took it to my brother-in-laws, and the first thing out of his mouth was "check to make sure you have the wires hooked up to the right plugs". They weren't. After I switched them around and was feeling like a total dufus, he said, don't worry about it, even some of the best mechanics have made that same mistake at least once.
