i think ive got it

I finally think I know what to buy for my 1986 4runner! tell me what you think
bj spacers up front
OME "stock" leafs (off www.toyotaoffroadparts.com )
shackles my friend is making
and Rancho 5000s

I have one question though... what size shocks do I get if I'm lifting the back and front 2-3inches? and where can Ii buy them for a 4runner? thanks

I am getting 5167's up front. I have the '95 4runner, but find out if the IFS is the same for all years. If so, then you want the Rancho 5167, which are Suzuki Samuari (?) shocks, and the BJ spacers. Even though it says it's for a Samuari (?) it is a direct bolt-on. I don't know anything about leafs and shackles since I don't have then on mine. I do know that I am going to use 5009 on the rears with mine on about a 2-3" lift from original stock.

This post might cut out and he might ban me, but go here before that happens. Amgraham knows a lot about these years models. He has a truck and 4runner from that era.

As far as I know the IFS is the same for all years. The rear of an 86 though, is not the same suspension as on a 95 4Runner.

I have 5180 on the rear of my 88 pickup with 2" suspension lift. They should also work on first gen 4Runners with similar lift.

Bump for this thread.

I'm thinking of the OME Dakar leafs also.

Ideally I'd like to run Bilsteins. like the below 245 shipped is sweet.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BILST...spagenameZWDVW

I probably wont' do BJS right away. Only if the rear is way higher than the front. I want to run 31's would do 33x9.5 if I get the money and motivation to regear to 4.88's.

Can I run the above Bilsteins with the OME Dakar leafs or do I have to get the OME shocks?
