Just my opinion. Replacing the fuel pump while you got the tank down and out,would be a noble idea and a future problem outta the way (given the miles you have).
Yeah,financially,things are tough now,but worth if if you could imagine what would happen if you didn;t replace it. You'd curse yourself thinking, "damn,I had that blasted tank out 6 months ago,had the chance to replace the pump,now I gotta do it anyway. Arrrrrgh!...and more downtime"
Sorry,not trying to convince you,but I'd find the extra scratch to change that pump while yer already their.
