I am running the NGK Iridiums in my 94 3.0 truck (that will soon be running a 2.4 2RZ-FE) and my SR20DE in my Nissan NX2000. I used the Bosch Platinums with good success in the past, and the Bosch Platinum +4's that seemed to make my 3.0 overheat? I recommend the Iridiums, and NGK does make the best Japanese sparkplugs.

I have a set of NGK Iridiums and they have been fine for me... supposedly those last 100k miles or so. I think Honda may be putting those in their engines in the factory now...

After much research into this, I decided to spend the extra $ and go with the Denso Iridium's. I went to Densoproducts.com. They had four different choices ranging from $2 - $12. The $9 Iridium plugs still had platinum in the tips so....I took a deep swallow and spent $12 a piece on the "true" Iridiums. I went with the Denso wires too. Have yet to install them, gotta wait for them to be shipped. The NGK's have treated me well in the past but, I thought it was time to give Denso a try after hearing so many good things about them.
It's been around 5 years since I replaced my rotor cap.....do you think I should go a head and replace that too or do think it's still got some good life left in it?

Hey yellowtruck, Good luck with those Iridiums, Denso is good stuff. I started to research plugs after you started this thread the other day. I have a slight pinging prob in my 22RE, I run a full MSD set up with NGK platinums and I have read various sources claiming that Platinum tips do not dissipate heat as well as a full platinum core plug like the Bosch's. I hopping that when I cange my plugs tonight with NGK standards it will be the fix to my problem. I'll just have to change plugs more often because copper isn't as tough as Platinum. You shouldnt have any problems though and probably won't have to change your plugs for a long long time.

Yeah, at $12 per plug, I'm reeeeeally hoping that these Iridiums last a very long time and show me the difference I am hoping for.
My friend had been using the platinum NGK's on his 4runner and said that he was getting a lot of pinging. He swapped them out for the NGK V-Power and said that smoothed everything out. He's the one who advised me to stay away from platinum.
