Hydro Locked

And there I was. Just me and the mud hole. (I might be a redneck!) I went through the not so deep side, then reverse through the not so deep side; do you ever just have to much fun. Then through the deep side I went. 3/4 of the way through I hear "POW" and the motor dies. Try to turn it over and "POW" again. So we pull it out and take the intake hose off and woosh, yep, brown muddy water pours. My air filter wieghed about ten pounds it had so much water in it. I'm not mechanically inclined so at this point I started choking on my own vomit. I had a buddy that with us that drives a jeep cherokee, huh huh, and he had read up on it alot. So he said we will takes the plugs out and turn the motor over to get the water out. For those of you who know how to fix this problem to can skip this part. Wow, it shot out like a water gun. The motor turned over fine. So after numerous minutes of turning the engine over and no more water was flying out we decided to change the oil. Dont worry, we used a containier to catch the oil. Hey did I mention I drove it out of the woods and to the house to perform a full oil change with filter and air filter. My truck is a 1987 4runner with 237,620 miles. I love what you do for me,TOYOTA. Is there any doubt about driving a toyota.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that a Jeep Wrangler pulled me out; only because I had the only Toyota that day.

I swallowed a bit of water on one trip as well.. (water over the hood and up the windshield) .. I was able to smash reverse fast enough and get out before sucking in lots of water.

mud, dust, dirt, water all in the carb, distributor was filled (had to take that off and dry it out).

made it home but the carb had to be taken off and cleaned out reall good.. runs fine now.. year + later.
