How to replace a nut a front tire??? help

Hi all,

I am new here and I was wondering if anyone can help me out so I can save some time. I have a 90 v6 4x4 pickup.
I have to replace a nut in order to pass out of province inspection...
This nut holds the front tire in place, when I was mounting the front tire, I over tighten one bolt and it snapped off.

Thanks!

I assume you are talking about one of the studs that the lug nut threads onto... if so, take off the wheel, take off the brake caliper (from the wheel - no need to disconnect the brake line) and pull the rotor off, your now looking at the wheel hub, you can see the studs, and where they are pressed through the hub plate, get a BFH (Big F***ing Hammer) and knock out the broken one, then put the new one through, and stack washers on it and then put the lug nut on the end, and tighten it down (preferably with an impacy wrench) to pull the studs splines into the hub plate. You can do it with hand tightening to, its just pretty touh, because of the whole interference fit priniple.

Good luck!!

or take the rotor to a shop, and have the lug stud pressed in.

or tell them there's hundreds of thousands of Jeeps and full size trucks running around with only 5 lug nuts...

To remove the rotor you need to remove the hub assembly then you can remove the rotor with ease.
