It's not easy....that's why there are so few skylines in the states, but they're here and there in Canada. It's easy to get them into Canada (15 years), but the US has crazy customs regulations and stuff. So even getting one through Japan to Canada to the US is hard to do. Skylines or 4runners, doesn't matter.

Simple solution would be to move, hey, you get free drugs too...

Toyota has some awesome trucks overseas. In australia, it's known as the Hilux, and they currently make some of the coolest looking and driving trucks in the outback.

I seen lots of 2gen Hilux Surf's in edmonton all the time... But I dont think I've ever seen a 1st gen RHD hilux around here.

I saw a RHD 4-door quad cab 1st gen toyota pickup in banff one time, it was pretty sweet.

I've never seen any 1st gen imports around here, only 2nd gen.

...and one vanwagon. Why someone wanted to import that, I don't know......

And go snow! I was so happy last weekend when it snowed like 10cm, I shoveled it all around my truck just to drive through it.

im the only first gen in my community
Between Hilux Surfs (1st and 2nd gens), Hilux quad cab's (87-93's), Prado's, and 80 Series Crushers, I've seen tons of all makes and models from Japan. I live in the N.W. too and have seen numerous quad cab Hilux's and Hilux Surfs (1st gen 4runners) around here. Almost all turbo diesels!

Maybe you just came out from under a rock or something..j/k. Have you been a Yota afficionado for very long? Perhaps it's the "now I own a Yota so I see them everywhere syndrome". I didn't notice how many V8 4th gen runners were out there until the wife got one, if you know what I mean.

And for the record, I'd love to own one of those 1st gen, solid axle, turbo diesel runners from Japan myself. They are SWEET!!!!

Cheers

you must have a vehicle 25 years old to import into the states.. so they come to canada for 10 years then usual go to the states....

i love my hilux so much but would solid a solid axle first gen diesel too..
only issue with mine is its so pristine THAT i wont offroad it.. which is fine by me because i have 2 trail rigs...

im a right hand driver for life now i think..life to short to drive boring cars!

Way to bring this thread back from the dead.

I'd want a 3L turbo diesel, 4 door pickup.
There's a guy that lives three blocks down from me. When ever we pass each other, we both get whiplash.
Another guy lives across the alley from me, owns an old FJ, completely restored. I drool at it every time I go by.

That's not rot, that's a minor flesh wound. Check my truck. Now THAT'S rot. You can see my truck's innards.

Not for long. Just found a front quarter panel at Pick n Pull. Soda blast, primer and paint time.
