How much Pag and 134a for my AC?

Going to retrofit my R12 system to 134, including pulling the compressor and draining it. Already changed the drier. After pulling vacuum, how much Pag oil and 134 do I add? I've gotten VERY conflicting quotes after searching. I live in CenCal, and before you know it, it's going to be

Anyone?

TIA,

Qdude

Sometimes the compressor will say how much oil to use on it. Google the compressor model. As for freon, I would guess, put in what it says on the A/C sticker. It should be somewhere in the engine bay. I haven't retrofitted yet. Are you replacing the seals through out? r134 does run at higher pressure. Maybe you should consider Hot Shot an r12 direct replacement. I have heard good things about it.

I used to work at a body shop so when we would recharge ACs, they would only take a pound or 2 of R134.

I dont know about changing over from R12 tho.

If you try to charge 134a using the sight glass, the system will likely be overcharged. I found that out the hard way. 134A in an old R12 conversion seems to work better a little undercharged. I think my low-side pressure is only 25psi when running.
