Question How many miles on your A/T?

Just curious to see how many miles some of you have put on your automatic trannys.

Mines a A340H, currently have 158000 miles with no problems sofar. Fluid always stays in good shape between changes.

Mine had 197K when I rebuilt it. The seals were a bit hard, but it was in good condition otherwise.

194k, its an A340F and its in a much heavier platform b/c its a T100.

Previous owner changed ATF per severe maintenance schedule every 15-20k.

I bought my 88 in August this year and right now I got 223K miles. It shifts fine when going at slower speeds, but if I am stepping on the skinny pedal with any pressure, it will take longer to shift and sometimes jerk to the next gear. Don't know about any previous owners care for the A340F, but I wonder if I should change fluid and filter, put additives in or what?? I am leery of doing stuff to older autos if I don't know their history. Would it be a hijack if I asked you all for opinions on maintenance of my high mileage auto?
Phil

My '87 Pickup 4X4 22RE motor has 208,000 miles on the auto tranny. Second gear shifts in a little hard but other than that it seems to be working ok. Yes I know dont see many of these pickup's with the auto tranny and x-tra cab, but stumbled across it in a guys front yard and couldnt pass it up. Has a fiberglass bed on it too so no rust!!!!

My 86 auto had 242,000. Working fine until I pulled my boat and like a dumbass decided to see if it would pull in OD, did that about 12 miles and the front seal started leaking and a couple of days later OD started slipping. Found an 87 tranny with 96,000 and swapped it.

my 1990 2wd 4cyl xtracab automatic was sold at 235,000 with the original transmission

the 1993 2wd v6 xtracab has 182,000 on its original transmission.

however, ive never towed anything heavier than a three rail dirt bike trailer.

so knock on wood and get a tranny service.

Sounds like they are pretty good if serviced.

I bought my truck with 70000 on the ODO, I now have almost 160000, and have serviced the tranny religiously every 25-30k miles.

*edit: damn, I just realized I am averaging about 18000 miles per year. I've had 'er for 5 years...
