How to ID a geared TC?
Howdy everyone:
I have a good low mileage transfer case out of a 94 truck with R150F. It has the top shift. How do I tell if it is a geared case or a chain driven one?
Thanks!
Jim

Here is how you tell for sure... courtesy of www.marlincrawler.com.
"If you have 7 bolts in the rear cover then you have the gear driven unit.
If you have 5 bolts holding the rear cover then you have the chain drive unit.
Bolt #7 is behind the drive shaft and can't be seen in this picture."
