Question How do i change a 2nd gen tstat

i tried searching and didnt find anything, i did find the 3rd gen write up but it looks different than mine. 2nd gen 3.0 iam getting a new radiator and what to change everything while its apart...thanks

The thermostat is located where the lower coolant hose meets the engine. There are 3 bolts holding the cover on. While the rad is out is a good time to do it, it's a lot easier to get to.

For what? Our Toyota t-stat uses a rubber gasket. But for an RTV used to seal around coolant I use this:

i have the 3.0 first gen 4 runner. i bought a thermostat (jiggle valve) and a rubber gasket. the haynes manual says i need a room temperature vulcanizator to seal it up.. wich one is best?
