How do I adjust/set the inclinometer?

I just recieved my 2nd gen inclinometer and would like to set it up and adjust it. Can someone point me in the right direction and also how do you set the right altitude? I don't know mine. Thanx

In terms of altitude there should be a knob to turn to calibrate. You need to have an idea of what the altitude is to initially calibrate the altitude. After that it works on its own via barometric pressure.

In terms of the clinometer you pull out on the knob to calibrate on gauge and leave it in and turn gauge to calibrate the other. Make sure you are stopped on a relatively flat surface when doing this.

Disclaimer: I could easily be wrong, my best guess as I have one in my 1988.

Thats it. If you have a friend with a GPS you can set it to metric (meters, like the altimiter) and set it from there.

It does not move much though.

No not usually. I haven't found it particularly useful yet. But it was an amusement driving from where I live in Iowa (600 ft asl) through Nebraska/Wyoming/Utah/Idaho (up to 8500 ft asl). I found it to be accurate.

hektikwon,

if you've turned the knobs to adjust but its still not aligned properly, you will have to remove the hard case and remove the plastic face plate. once there, you can manipulate the pitch and roll with your fingers. make sure that you've centered the knobs when centering the faces.
