how to change idle???

my idle has been rly high lately, and my mom decided 2day that when i start my truck and let it sit for a minute in the driveway, it becomes unbearable. i just plan on lowering the idle a little bit, but im not sure how. how difficult is it to do it, and how do i do it? btw, i dont have a tach in my truck.

If your idle has increased suddenly then you may have more going on, like a vacume leak. But assuming everyting is ok, you can adjust the idle very easily.

There's a screw on the throttle body that you can turn to change the idle. Get your truck up to operating temp and leave it running while you turn the screw. Since you don't have a tach you will have to adjust it till it sounds about right.

its not so much that the idle has suddenly increased, its that i got a new muffler and its a glasspack and my mom actually heard it idle for the first time a couple days ago soooo. lol. oh well. thanks much
