:complain: i work at advanced auto parts store and my toyot a pickup 89 22re just started reading hot and the thermostat was just changed could it be my temp sending switch? coolants fin and up but it red

I really wouldn't count on it being the sending unit...
Did it start right after you changed the Tstat?
In backwards?
Is the water pump circulating good?
If so, I'd change the pressure cap. Believe it or not if these don't hold the correct pressure in the rad the truck will run hot.
If all that checks out, the radiator might be getting clogged up. Consider getting it rodded out or buying a new one.

I had the same probs with my 22re. I went to the carwash and pressure washed all the dirt and grease from under the moter and while i was @ it cleaned/squirted the coils/cooling fins for my radiator/tranny/cooler/air cond fins. made a big diff in how fast the temp went down after a big hill climb. also I make sure the oil is topped off trying to get this little sucker to run cool.although I've seen on this board that the sending units aren't always a good/great indicator of the temp.
