Hinge Pin Replacement

Has anybody replaced their hinge pins on their doors? I have a 91 runner that the drivers door moves up and down a bit because of worn door hinge pins. Who sells replacement hinges or are they even available?

91 LH hinges

I found this on ebay - although I have never ordered from this seller. Seems cheap enough though.

Might I mention the complete obvious- scribe or mark in some other way the complete outline of both ends of the hinge to aid in aligning the door. Sometimes the paint will be so much shinier under the hinge, but I wouldn't count on that being real easy to see.

How much do the doors weigh in a 91 anyway? They aren't too much for one person in my 86 (holding and bolting) but if you have power windows and locks you might want to enlist another "helper".

Keep those new hinges greased if you can.

Thanks for the link. Looks like I might have to buy a whole hinge. I was hoping to be able to just replace the pin as the rest of the hinge is in great shape. Coming over the the world of Early Broncos, they have kits where you can just replace the pins.

On my 82 it did that too. I took them off and took the pins off welded up the holes, made new pins, and drilled out the hinges same dia as the pins and put it all together and it works good.

The Toyota hinges seem to wear out at the hole more then the pin. All of the hinges on my trucks have elongated (some more than others) holes but the pins are nice and round.

I will take a closer look, but when the door is open and I grab the bottom and move it up and down all the movement is in the pin. The hinge attached to the door and the body are nice and tight and don't move a bit. It loos like I can get Toyota factory hinges for about $28 a piece, so I might just go that route.
