Just installed my H4 headlight conversion with a H4 hid kit. Its a xentec 8000k kit low beam. I have it installed in my 94 pickup everything was pretty straight foward. I took it for a road test and noticed the lights flicker a little bit. The lights don't shut off, it just flickers. Anybody else have this problem? Lmk. Alohas!!!

Check your connections and grounds as stated above, also, if it were me, I'd be running those ballasts off of relays directly off the battery and not just triggering them through the OEM harness. Also make sure the bulbs are secured in the housings well and not moving around on you. Our BMW has the tendency to move the bulbs around that gives you a flickering effect as well.

I've been where you are, I've had a PnP HID kit in Hella E-code housings. I swore by them. Mine were bixenon (hi/lo kit). In all reality, I get WAY better light out of properly rewired halogens in the same housings, running a diode in the mix to create dual beams when on high.

Honestly, putting HIDs in halogen housings is a waste of time, and the quality of the kits are pretty terrible. I fought tooth and nail to keep my kit from deteriorating to the point that I rewired it all, then my ballasts died, bulbs blew, the HI/LO selector quit, etc. Don't waste your time any longer, do a proper retrofit with some FXr bixenon projectors. You'll be amazed at the amount of usable light output, the wicked sharp cutoff, and a setup that will NOT fail you.

I recommend OEM ballasts for them, as I generally don't like aftermarkets when it comes to HIDs, however, Morimoto is one of the higher quality aftermarket ballasts.

 

I had the same issue with mine and I e-mailed the company and they sent me new ballasts and that fixed the problem

 

its a ballast problem.....or you have a bad ground and/ or loose connection.

 

I have also had cheap HID bulbs flicker due to....well they are cheap. As said above ballasts are also quite often bad.....and cheap.
