I recently bought an 86 yota xtra cab. it had the 22re efi, but the guy i bought it from said the motor was bad and he replaced it, then converted it to a carb. i finally fixed the high idle and backfire issue. now when im sitting still and idling, it has a bit of a skip/hesitation. what could be causing this? Timing...?

 

timing like you said or a bad carb, the nedles inside might be stuck

 

thanks, i have been thinking of buying a new carb anyway. i want more fuel..lol. and as far as timing, forget it. my buddy and i are working on putting a new timing chain and guides on his. forget it. i would rather drop a new motor in it haha.
