Hesitant acceleration after warm start?
Hello folks -
My 93 22re yota runs like a top...minus one issue. Here's what I notice in a step-by-step list:
1. Get engine to operating temperature
2. Shut engine off and restart
3. Accelerate through gears
But when I get to second gear at 3000 rpm, acceleration is hesitant. I will be trying to acceleration but the engine will bog and hesitate. Pressing the pedal more and more then to the floor will "clear" it it feels like and acceleration will resume normally for as long as the engine is running. But if I shut it off and restart it, the same thing will happen likely. One other thing to note is that usually the idle after this warm restart will be sluggish, 500 rpm or so. Any ideas for this?
I've owned the truck for about 4000 miles only and I've been in nearly every nook of the vehicle minus the guts of the engine. The only engine problem i've noticed is an oil leak (1 qt/2000 mi or so).
