Help wanted!

Okay first of all as I turn on my truck turns on perfect but as I give it gas it suddenly dies out completely could it be that my fuel system like my gas pump or injector aren't working properly? Or could it be that is has very low compression..
I just bought this truck

Could be any or all of what you stated.

Do you have any history on this vehicle at all.

Might be nice to know what drive train??

It can`t hurt to do a full tune up and change the fuel filter.

Maybe you have some sort of intake restriction a herd of spiders or a flock of mice things like that.

I've seen a lot of these posts, try searching the forums for similar threads. Often the case the issue is the fuel filter or the Air Flow Meter is going bad.

So I was replacing my fuel injectors the bottom rubber bushing that goes in got stuck. As I was looking at the injectors I see rust on them and really old looked like they have never been replaced it sad to see that my rig wasn't taken care by the previous owner. Im doing a full tune up to see if that's the problem causing my rig not getting its full power by doing the spark plugs, fuel filter, drained out the old gas (was sitting for about 6 months) also planning on putting a new gas pump (good thing I have one laying around) changing oil (thinking of using high mileage oil) oil filter, air filter and new spark plug wire. If Im missing something please let me know I basically have knowledge from working on Hondas all my life but new to the 4x4 scene so its a bit different bit loving it. If you think there is something wrong with the injectors, I would send them to witch hunter to have them refurbished and flow balanced. I believe it is about $20.00 per injector, and they can get them back to you within a couple days.

I had some extra injectors laying around that I took off from my sr5 4runner running and in great shape, so I just decided to put those on and maybe thinking of sending my old ones to get refurbished.

Okay so I have already changed out my TPS, Iac valve and still bogging out. As I move the throttle slowly giving it gas everything is fine but as I get to high RPMs it Boggs out also if I give it a hard pull in the throttle it wants to give out. Could it be a exhaust leak? My down pipe is cracked right after the header and down pipe meet after the bolts could that be it? I didn't change it out last night due my son having soccer practice.

Have you ever checked for ECU codes?

No I have not checked for ECU codes. My truck does not have a diagnostics box to pull up the codes. Or is there another way I possibly can?

We need to know what kind of vehicle you're talking about first. Checking codes differs by year.

An exhaust leak before the O2 will absolutely affect performance. Are you sure you got the TPS adjusted correctly? Have you checked the afm?

What year is your truck?

I have a 1987 4runner dlx. Today I drove it off of my drive way because I was messing with it checking all the vacuum lines and I was able to reverse it out but when I was trying to drive my truck up my driveway it was to weak to drive up. I just put on the tps sensor the way the other one was. I haven't checked the AFM.

Wow we have the similar problem man. The only way I can move it forward is the same way as you in 4 low and reverse only, once I hit high RPMs my trucks Boggs out then release and hits back to normal.

We really need the test results, for all the tests you've been asked to run.

Stored codes, TPS, VAFM, O2, Compression. Probably missing some.

You need to go edit the first post and put a short description of the problem "engine bog at XXXXrpm" or something.

You have two threads about the same issue and should ask a moderator nicely to merge them. Or atleast have the link to one in the other, and stick to one thread.

Thanks I will do so. I'm just not to familiar with this forum I don't know who a moderator is man or even knew there was one. I apologize for the multiple threads just trying to get my truck running.

I will let you know the results as soon as I've done them. I will get back at y'all.
