Help! Unique rear-window problem
Hey so as you can see in the pictures hopefully, my tailgate window is stuck in an awkward "half-up, half-down" position. I believe somebody tried to force the window down by hand. I don't even know where to start to solve this issue! Someone suggested just bust out the window and replace it with a used one from a nearby junk-yard. I believe the window motor works, but the window motor arm is still attached on the driver-side part of the window. Any ideas how to approach the issue?

If you can reverse the motor to lower the track, that should free up the tension and allow you to manuever the window into place. If the track won't lower, you might have to detach it from the window (if you can get to the attachment points).
If that fails, I'd wire a DPDT switch, center off, directly to the window motor so you can jockey it up and down and attempt to work things loose.

You can run some wires straight from the motor to a car battery to get the motor to move. Just by switching polarity on the motor will control which way the motor goes.
No need in busting out the window. You can unbolt the motor lift assembly and manuver the whole assembly around to get it to unbind. Most likely your track is rusted and it came out of its track.
Run to battery and using female wire plugs will make it a lot easier.
These two bolts where my finger is at and the other two on the other side will let the assembly move. Between working it with the battery and removing the 4 screws, you should get it down enough that you can lower the tail gate and work with it easier.
