HELP! Toyota 22R cutting out and running rich

Hello all, my 87 toyota Xtracab pickup is having some sort of running problem that i cant seem to figure out. 2 weeks ago i filled the truck up and it started running really rough at about 1/4 throttle to maintain speed black smoke was puffing out of the tailpipe, i rebuilt the Carburetor replaced the fuel filter changed the plugs and wires, the truck ran great the remainder of the tank so i thought my problem was fixed, last night i filled the truck up with fuel again, and my problem has returned.. any ideas??

Will it clear out if you run it a bit or does it keep running rich? Did you change the aap diaphragm when you rebuilt the carb?

It sounds like somehow its sucking fuel threw the vent line on the tank maybe?

Or the fuel lines in the tank have been removed and reinstalled wrong.

Hows your float level when its running rich?
