something broke in my friends door about a month ago and hes unable to open his door. We took the panel off the best we could to see whats going on. When u use the power locks it dont seem like its unlocking the mechanism all the way either.

So im assuming whatever broke off somehow got jammed. Any ideas on how u could get a door open on a 93 4runner if the door jam is locked shut?

Not that I know exactly what it looks like in your door, but usually the linkage rod coming down from the door lock cylinder triggers the lock/unlock part of the latch. It sucks to remove the door panel from the inside, but if you can feel inside maybe you can move it. It's greasy, and there are plenty of nice sharp edges. Maybe it just needs the power lock actuator, but it may be part of the latch assembly when you buy it.
