My brother is down and we are trying to put my old 4.56 front diff w/ ADD in his 93 truck with no ADD(long shaft). We have done a lot of reading but can't figure out how to get this needle bearing out We rented a slide hammer but ther is nothing to grab onto with the atachment
Does the ring and pinion have to come out and then pound it out from the inside??? We have LOTS of diagrams and the FSM.... What are we missing??
How do we get the bearing and sleeve out? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

 

Took ring gear out and still couldnt get the sleeve out with the slide hammer. We ended up just putting a seal over the bearing. We'll see how long it holds.
