Recently acquired a new 22re engine from a 1989 i believe, all disassembled. No need for emission crap here. Can ya all help me with the vacuum stuff, what can go, what need to stay.
#1 goes to #4 (the 90 degree coming off the side of the valve)
#2 goes to the valve cover just above the "Y" in TOYOTA
#3, and the same size tube coming straight out at #4, are for valve on top of the power steering pump
#4 also has two vacuum line connections for the A/C VSV bolted on middle the valve cover
8 is a multi-port for vacuum lines. On mine, some go to the VSV bolted at the back of the valve cover, another is a vacuum line from the cruise actuator
None of #1-#8 is really smog, per se.

Ok. So I'm not running AC so can I just cap the two little ones on number 4?
And number 8 i can just cap whatever one's i don't use?
At #4 you only have to cap the one on the bottom, but might as well do both. At #8 yes, cap off any port not being used. Otherwise you'll have unmetered air entering and throwing off the air/fuel mix.

I got the vacuum ports backwards at #4. You definitely need to cap the one at the 3:00 position in your photo. The one at 6:00 has a diaphragm inside blocking the passage, but capping would be good, too.
Sorry, I don't give advice on deleting emission components. Or lifts. I think both have consequences.
