Help! Crossed battery wires and *poof*
#21
Ok, so not quite the end of saga.... yes truck ran fine with starter relay replaced....however I ran it for a while, around the yard....left it sitting at idle for a few minuets and presto...it dies! @$%#!!!!!
cool down period...for myself...turn key cranks really well but will not start. Open bolt at EFI gas squirts out so fule is there. Pull off plug wire install screwdriver end and ground to motor while a friend turns key...no @%#&$%# spark...cool down period again...for me. A pro mechanic freind says "could be a lot of things"
great I'm not a mechanic
so somewhat clueless where to start. Another friend stops by,an old timer and says " go get a coil it will start right up" Sounds like a shot in the dark but I go to the auto parts store...where the guy is kind enough to tell me how to test the coil which I do...oh yes ! bad coil! new coil installed and running again.
Got looking closer at wire connections coming into under hood fuse box,yes "bubba" was there...lots of tape and such. While at parts store picked up proper crimp connections to clean up Bubba tape job. Oh well, a little at a time but learning

Yup. That how it goes. Just wait until you get to the point that you don't need to fix anything. It'll drive you nuts waiting for something to work on, then you'll buy another truck with issues.......... start working on it........
