Help!

Got a 91 pickup v6, 4x4. Just got the furl pump out,got a new one, but its to late to put it in. I was searching around the web, and read how to put the pump back in. I got a new pump, and filter with it. Question is do i need any type of sealer to seal the pump? Not the pump, but the thing that is holding the pump, and its screwed down on to the gas tank. When we unscrewed it, and pulled it out i think we ripped some kind of seal, so no gas can leak out. Do i need any kind of sealer for it, or just put the pump back in, and just bolt the thing rea tight? thanks in advance.

Might want to replace the seal . Or you could make a gasket. I would replace it , you dont want to do it twice and you dont want gas leaks.
