Headlamps allow water in

I had my 1995 4runner a month now and took it out mud splashing. There is water and some filth inside the front glass headlamp housings. I looked around what I could (since my meat-hook fingers are too fat to dismantle the front grille, without either taking off the grill, or enduring a timeless game of pinch-wrist)....

Anyway. It looks like there are breathers or some type of rubber tubes that lead out of the glass housings. Does anyone know WHY there would be rubber tubes in these glass headlamps to allow water to come in?

Not so much to allow water in but to allow condensation out

Maybe you might think of buying a boat instead of something with tires

That is why like my sealed beam headlights

Is that sealed beam like the old style glass lamp with the fitting on the back?

Yep the kind we had back in the sixties .

Saw one person who closed off the drains in about 3 months the condensation got so high the water hit the hot bulbs
