head gasket ? and ive searched but still have ?

i have a 90 2wd ext v6 5 spd, bought it with about 190k on it and it needed lots of work but i got it running real good. now its got over 220k and the head gasket blew.

so i dont know if its been done before but even if it has will they keep doing it? ive read post about people doing 2,3,4 head gaskets but does the recall cover those or just the first one?

and if its never been done will they still honor it with this many miles? its been a great truck but i dont have the time to work on it so it be great if toyota would do it.

any help would be great, thanks

welcome to yoatech .... not sure if they still do the recall but if you do the head gasket right it should last for awhile i would put a good set of headers on while you have it all tore apart

Elton,
It's my understanding that even just doing the Y-pipe mod is sufficient for better heat transfer. Are headers really that necessary...do they make that much more difference than just a pipe mod alone?

Joe,
If you do happen to go to Toyota for the job (or anywhere, for that matter), make sure they use new headbolts. There are numerous X 1,000,000 threads discussing this. I exaggerate, but there are a lot.

Just the first one, then you're on your own.

If someone's doing 2,3,4 HG replacements. They didn't do it right the first time. But if you can get another 220K miles outta an HG replacement, why do any mods that cost alot of money?

As the other gender of our race have often said,"Boys with Toys!". That's why. I doesn't always make sense, but neither do women.

LOL. Good Point! I'm the child of sharecroppers and I just get that lesson of "don't NEED it, don't BUY it" outta my system.
