Also, keep in mind that the front tires will wear faster than the rears and if they're not rotated regularly the small difference in circumference will cause the rear tires to travel a little bit farther per revolution than the fronts, causing the case to bind. This is one reason backing up a bit tends to take the bind out of the t-case since now the rear is pulling the front. If you let it go backwards and hold some pressure on the lever, it should pop out.

Oh man! Tires are another headache I've got. I probably should start another thread on this, but the quick and short of it is that the PO had put 33/12.50/15 tires mounted on a set of 10" wheels. I don't know how much lift it has for sure, but he said that it was just a lift block in the back of maybe 3-4" and he said the torsion bars had been turned up and that was all. It sets pretty high and it is absolutely all over the road especially if it is a rutty road. I'm thinking about just putting it back to stock and then just start over. I don't know squat about lifts but I think that is the best way for me to go at this time. I'm open to any suggestions from anyone who cares to comment. I even thought that this wierd lift might have something to do with the trouble I'm having with the TC shifting.

since you have blocks in the rear, you're gonna be kinda stuck with the front... sort of.
You could add ball joint spacers and relax your t-bars, but with the bars relaxed, you're going to be more likely to have the tires rub on the fenders. You would be able to fix that somewhat with a body lift.

maybe we shouldn't pick on our 22r brethren: if it weren't for the carb... how could you expect to get any higher (cough... cough...) horsepower (cough... cough... cough... choke... gag... cough)?

Just an update. I went out today and tried it again. This time I got out and unlocked the hubs, backed it up about 10-15 feet and then tried to go from 4H to 2H. It slipped right in without any fuss.
I did it two or three times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and it worked very well each time. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your help.
