92 Toyota Pickup, 22re engine 5 speed manual. When in neutral or in gear there is no noise, but when its in gear and I let off the gas there's a gridning noise that seems to becoming from the trans or in that area. In the video in the link provided you can hear it around 8 seconds 20 seconds best. Anyone know what the culprit could be?

grinding or vibrating? vibration could be bad trans mounts or bad rear u joints, as for a grinding noise im not too sure

Is a grinding not a vibrating noise. Almost positive it's the trans because when I push the clutch in the noise goes away.

Im gussing i'ts your clutch pressure plate, might as well put in a new clutch kit, and make sure you get your flywheel resurface. My old ford truck did the samething (thats if it's the same noise I'm thinking, something like gears grinding but with a lower pitch noise, don't worry I don't think it's not your tranny.

It could be a problem with your rear axle. When you let off the gas the gear teeth suddenly switch pressure to the other side of the teeth and basically 'backfeed' up the driveshaft. You're working against the back side of the gear teeth and that's working against the rotation of the engine which slows the truck down. When you push the clutch in you relieve that pressure and break the tension between the rotational power of the rear wheels and the engine. I had a Chevy do this same thing and it ended up being a bad carrier bearing in the rear axle.
