Getting there.............
Just wanted to talk about my journey so far. Bought this truck a little over a year ago because I had one in high school and I hated it. I was young and stupid.......
I purchased this one because now I'm old and realized I was stupid.
THE DAY I BOUGHT...........
The way she looks now..............
Interior was shot so I made some adjustments.............
Decided to conquer some leaks I was having and make her look a bit more appealing............
Ran into some pretty stupid little hiccups like the dreaded coolant bypass pipes and hoses.......
I think it was a very worthwhile project..............
Now on to the hard stuff. Next up is the suspension. Wish me luck.

Similar boat as you, wanted one in 1984-85 when stationed on Okinawa, had privy to the first brochures but couldnt afford returning back to the states. Fast forward ~30 years, finally got one. Actually I'm on my second now but keeping this one until they bury me.
Now I spend my time working on it or surfing 4runner porn, quite the addiction I must admit.
Keep us posted on progress!

4runner porn..........It should have an addiction status. I flip-flop on every modification or restoration job I do with this thing. I originally convinced the wife to let me get it to haul kids to and from practice, but now my 12 year old son and daughter fight over who gets it when it's time to start driving. They've helped me every step of the way with it though. Thank goodness too; some of those tight places where the bolts/hoses like to hide are no match for a 12yr old's tiny hands.
