All original paint. Yeah, pulling the motor now I"m gonna have to be careful. I"ll be calling my buddy over to help me so the motor doesn't swing out or whatever on me and bash into something.

That shouldn't be much of a problem as long as you keep most of the weight below where it is tied/mounted.

I had to do a pull a block in a similar fashion. I made a plate to go over the block and bolt on like the head would but I welded a length of chain to the plate. The plate was held on with the stock head bolts and I must say it worked very well.
