I've run 4.10, 4.56, 4.88, and 5,29 and I like 4.88 for 33's.
5.29's were fun but I kept reaching for 6th gear on the highway.

Ya I've broke lots of R&P

4.88 its going to be a little more torque id recommend 4.56s its right in the middle its not dogish and you dont loose any top end when i had 34.10-50s on a 94 single cab 5 speed with 4.56s and it would get up and go pretty good and id still hit 110. id go with 4.88s if one day you think you might get 35s that way your ready and i wouldn't go with 5.29s unless your running something bigger then a 35s. my buddy has 5.29s on an 85 with 38/15.50 boggers and in 4 high he can smoke all 4 on concrete. hes blown a few rear ends to!!

What he meant was that 5th gear was too low for the speed he wanted to travel on the highway. I think 5.29 would be great for your application, but I've never been undergeared (having lower gear ratios than stock).

Everything I've heard and personal experience says that the 22RE and the 3VZ-E (V6) like to be rev'ed, plus you tow, so I'd say go the the 5.29s.

Are you ever going to go with 35s? If you are even a thought way in the back of your head then do 5.29s. If not, i still say go with 5.29s. Your towing stuff so you never wana be caught in a situation where you think to yourself, damnit i wish i went with 5.29s

yea i think thats the idea 5.29s b/c like u said i dont want to be in that type of situation. Now with 5.29s will i lose alot of top end b/c i do travel some distances while racing harescrambles on like 20 to 50 miles away and im pulling alot of gear?

i run 5:29's and 35" boggers on my 91 5 speed and its perfect. but boggers are heavy, and have allot of drag. if you gonna run regular m/t 33" tires id definitely go with a 4:88 ratio. but if you ever plan on going to a bigger/heavier tire, go with 5:29's.

yes your going to loose top end if your running 33s with 5.29s you will probley top out at 55-70mph and you will be running a higher rmp using more gas, its to low of a gear for high way driving with small tires

Top speed for these trucks is in 4th gear apparently, so 4th has the legs to travel fast. I say that because that because 5th gear with 5.29s might just be a little taller than 4th gear with 5.29s. Considering the 22RE at least is pretty efficient below 3500rpm.
