gearing ?

i just got done pulling 4.56s out of my truck and dropped in 4.88s for 33s. my question is will my old 4.56s be better for my buddies rig, 86 4runner 22re auto 4x4? mine is a 92 pickup 3.0 4x4.
he wants to run 33s but h wanted to see what would be better, keep his stock or put in these 4.56s.
whats his truck have stock anyway?

if your just running 33s its not that big of a deal. just a question why did you take out 4.56s to put in 4.88s why not go to 35 s and 5.29s. he probably has 4.10s but the 3rd members are probably different unless he has v6 3rds

Since the 86 is an automatic I'd be willing to bet it has 4.56's or 4.88's already. IIRC the auto rigs came from the factory with 4.56's unless they had the 31" tire package, in that situation they came with 4.88's.

I'm sure someone else will jump in and correct me if I'm a little mixed up.

My 86 4Runner with an automatic came with 4.30`s stock, it now has a manual trans and 4.88 gears with 37'' tires
