gear oil with a locker?

Is it okay to use synthetic gear oil in a diff with a locker?

I'm just curious about the operation and if it will be affected. Mostly for smoother operation and longevity.

If not, normal gear oil never fails.

This will be used with an aussie locker

I run amsoil severe gear synthetic in my diffs.

ITs fine, but a thicker oil (140w) will make the locker smoother and quieter.
