I've got a 1992 3VZE that needs exhaust valve work. When I look for a Toyota gasket kit, the TradeMotion software shows the following possibilities:
Valve Grind Gasket Kit
Engine Overhaul Gasket Set
Will the Valve Grind Gasket Kit have everything I need to put the beast back together, or do I need to go to the Engine Overhaul Gasket Set even though I don't intend to do any bottom end work?
Any help is much appreciated.

Get the valve grind kit. It has all gaskets, valve guide seals and all else you need gasket wise
Thanks!... Would the engine overhaul kit have the same gaskets because if so I may just get it to have the extra gaskets just in case we wanna do the bottom end at some point.....
In most cases, if you want to "do the bottom end at some point," you will need the entire gasket set, not just what was left over from a top job. How are you going to pull the pistons without removing the heads?

Yes, an engine overhaul kit/set usually includes all the gaskets for the engine. These types of kits are also refered to as complete engine gasket sets, for obvious reasons. As opposed to an upper engine gasket set, also refered to as a head gasket set(because it contains all the gaskets from the head gaskets up) or a valve grind gasket kit/set(for obvious reasons). Or a lower engine gasket set, which has all the gaskets below the head gaskets. So, an upper and lower set combined = an engine overhual kit/complete engine gasket set.Originally Posted by AW1090

sweet... thanks. I actually posted this in the wrong thread. I was reading through multiple threads for research and unintentionally posted in this one. Sorry, but thanks again for all the info....
