Fuel system woes again

If some of you saw my last thread last week or so, i chased down a misfire which was being caused by a clogged fuel injector. I put some injectors from flamethrower, and the truck has been running great! Unfortunately today, that misfire came back and its the exact symptoms as before on the same cylinder. I am led to believe that injector is clogged again. I blew out the fuel rail because i thought that the dirt that was in there was just from the 20+ years of service. So now i have to wonder, where did this clog originate? I put a new fuel filter on 3 days before the original misfire. I have already ordered a new fuel pump and screen, as well as another new filter because i figure i'm going to drop the tank anyways, might as well replace it while I'm there. Being here in Texas the metal parts don't corrode as fast as you PNW fellas' trucks, but the stuff that was in the clogged injector looked a lot like dirt /rust. This is what came out-

Where should i be looking for rust? Mainly in the tank? Also, can i just tap the injector lightly on my hand to get the loose particles out, and then hit it with some brake cleaner to get the rest? I really can't afford to have this truck down for more than 1 or 2 days, but i don't want to ruin my new injectors either. Thanks YT.
